Software Development Kit (SDK), Application Programming Interface (API) and Command Line Interface (CLI)

ScaleXtreme offers a rich set of REST (Representational State Transfer) API's that allow you to integrate your automation functionality directly into other systems that you might be running, to build portals or desktop applications that provide an alternate user interface, or to download data from your account. The API's allows you to gather data about clouds and servers under management, run jobs and automation operations on those servers, and gather output.

To demonstrate the power of the REST API's, ScaleXtreme has built and released a sample cloud portal that uses the REST API's. More information about the portal and code is available on the Self-Service Portal page .

Authentication to the API's is through oAuth 2.0, an industry-standard web authentication system.

The API's can also be accessed easily using our SDK (which also includes a CLI/Command Line Interface), which is available on GitHub at https://github.com/scalextremeinc . Our SDK is written in Python, with additional bindings and languages coming soon.
