How much does your product cost?
ScaleXtreme Xpress, is completely free, and no credit card required to signup or use the product. Good news is that it allows you to manage an unlimited number of servers. Bad news is that it is limited to one user and one Cloud. Our other two products are Xpert and Xtreme, that offer a lot more functionality and enterprise-grade functionality. You can learn more about these products on our pricing page .

How do I buy a subscription to the product - I only see the free version?
All you need to do is sign up for our free product, and then upgrade within the product once you login.

I'm still confused about the exact pricing. Can you give me some examples?

Is it complicated?
You can get your servers under management in a few minutes. Just setup an account, download our server agent or link your public cloud account, and your server will be under management instantly. Just try it out, it can't get any easier than this!

What do I get when I sign up for your product?
You can create new servers, monitor, patch, live access, and run automation jobs across all your servers, both inside the enterprise and in the public cloud. Click here for a long list of all our features.

Do I have to install any software? Where does your product run?
There is no local management software to deploy - our product runs in the cloud. The only piece of software you install is on the server you want to manage. It does not require any firewall ports or changes to be made. The software is available in the product once you signup for the account. Read more about the agent here .

Since ScaleXtreme is in the cloud, it can only manage public cloud machines, right?
Wrong! ScaleXtreme is built to allow you to manage servers all over the place - in the public cloud, inside the enterprise, across the world, on different virtualization platforms. As long as a server is running a Windows or Linux OS and has an outbound internet connection, it can be managed by ScaleXtreme. Try it out!

Your product is in the cloud. How can it manage my internal server - I have a network firewall that blocks any inbound traffic!
Our agent software connects through the cloud using a one-way, outbound HTTPS connection. As long as your server can talk to the internet (even through an internal proxy), we can manage it. For more detail, checkout our Architecture & Security Page .

I use VMware as my virtualization platform. Why do I need ScaleXtreme - VMware and Virtual Center handle everything for me!
ScaleXtreme is built for a different audience. ScaleXtreme does not replace your virtualization console - it is meant to help you service and manage your actual virtual machines and giving you self-service capabilities on top of your VMware deployment. For instance, you would never patch your Windows or Linux machines through Virtual Center, right?
In addition, IT operations and sysadmins can use ScaleXtreme to manage their servers without having to bother or get the virtualization admins involved. It also gives virtualization admins a way of setting up self-service functionality that takes them out of having to respond to every request to turn on/off servers - while still retaining overall control over their virtualization platform.
